Cooper Agency Original Thinking Since 1999

Shopify SEO Services UK Your Shopify store is live.
Now make it visible.

A store that cannot be found is paying for a shop window on a back street. We fix the technical problems that hold Shopify stores back and build the content that gets them ranking: SEO services for Shopify stores from a firm that builds and runs them, not an app that ticks boxes.

Why your Shopify store isn't ranking

Shopify is excellent for selling and average at SEO out of the box. These are the six problems we find in almost every store we audit.

Duplicate content

Shopify creates /collections/x/products/y URLs alongside /products/y. Google sees two pages for every product.

Canonical tags and proper URL handling

Slow page speed

App bloat, unoptimised images, and heavy themes drag scores to 30-50 on PageSpeed.

App audit, image optimisation, theme cleanup

Thin product descriptions

Manufacturer copy-paste means your pages are identical to hundreds of other stores.

Unique, keyword-targeted product content

Missing schema markup

No product schema means no rich results - no stars, no price, no availability in Google.

Product, review, and FAQ schema implementation

No content strategy

Products alone don't build topical authority. Google needs context to understand what you sell.

Blog content, buying guides, category descriptions

Poor internal linking

Collections link to products, but products rarely link back or cross-link to related items.

Strategic internal linking architecture

How we optimise Shopify stores

Not a generic SEO checklist. Shopify-specific fixes from a firm that builds and manages stores on the platform.

Technical SEO audit

We crawl the entire store and fix what is broken: duplicate URLs, missing canonicals, broken redirects, slow pages, and the app bloat dragging the speed score down. The technical foundation has to be right before anything else works.

  • Duplicate URL resolution (collections/products paths)
  • App audit - remove what's slowing you down
  • Image optimisation and lazy loading
  • Sitemap and robots.txt optimisation

Product page optimisation

Product pages are where the money is made. We optimise titles, descriptions, images and schema markup so Google understands what you sell and shows it to the right people, in place of copied manufacturer descriptions competing with every other store.

  • Unique product descriptions that rank
  • Product schema for rich results (stars, price, stock)
  • Image alt text and file name optimisation
  • Title tag and meta description targeting

Content strategy

Products alone don't build authority. Buying guides, comparisons and articles bring customers to the store before they are ready to buy, and then the products close the sale.

  • Buying guides and comparison articles
  • Collection page optimisation
  • Shopify blog setup and content calendar
  • Internal linking between products and content

Reporting you can check

Monthly reports that show what changed, what ranked and what sold as a result. Every change to the store is tracked in version control, so when rankings shift we can show you the change responsible.

  • Keyword ranking tracking and trends
  • Traffic and revenue attribution
  • Competitor movement alerts
  • Next month's action plan

Our system reads your store. A chatbot only talks about Shopify.

Plenty of firms will now optimise a Shopify store 'with AI'. The question to ask is whether their tool can see your actual catalogue and feed, or whether it is a chatbot in a browser tab reciting Shopify tips.

A chatbot talks about Shopify

A browser-tab chatbot answers from generic training data: the same Shopify SEO tips everyone gets. It has never seen your products, your variants, your collections, or your Merchant Centre feed.

It can describe best practice. It can’t see where your store breaks it.

Our system reads into your store

Monica, the system we built to run the agency, reads your actual store through the Shopify API: every product, every variant and every collection, with your Merchant Centre feed alongside it.

That is how we find the duplicate pages, the thin variants competing with each other, and the feed mismatches no checklist surfaces.

What that found in one real migration

Reading the actual catalogue showed a store’s 3,000 ‘products’ were really 100. The rest were variant pages: one rubber strip in fifty size combinations counted as fifty separate products, each a thin page competing with the others for the same search. Consolidated into proper variants, fifty thin pages became one authoritative page.

You only see that by reading the data, not by talking about Shopify. Read the full breakdown: Why EKM Has 3,000 Products, Shopify 100.

So when we talk about AI on a Shopify store, we mean something you can check: Monica has read your actual store, and the work is led by a firm that builds and manages stores on the platform.

Why an SEO app is not enough

Dozens of Shopify SEO apps promise to fix your rankings. Most of them tick the same boxes: meta tags, alt text, broken links. That is housekeeping, not strategy.

An app is installed and left. The work that moves rankings starts with your store, your market, your competitors and your customers: content people want to read, the technical problems an app cannot see, and a report on the two questions that matter. Are more people finding the store, and are they buying?

Tony Cooper, our principal, has written about when Shopify is the right choice and when it isn't. If the platform is the problem, we will tell you before we sell you SEO that cannot fix it.
